Girls Like You - Maroon 5: A Rock Version Electric Guitar Cover

Hey guitar buddies! How are you? I'm excited to share this guitar cover of mine, Girls Like You by Maroon 5. I made it a rock version, so the theme was a little different, but the result of this transition so far met my expectations. Let me tell you the details of how I created it so that you can have an idea of your own.

Why this song?

Why did I choose this song? First, when I heard it, I was mesmerized by the melody. Melody is the first thing I pay attention to in songs. I don't want to play if the melody is not good to my ears. Then I'll make it to rock version. Of course, it will hit my taste buds, so it's an enjoyable play time for me.

My Affordable Yamaha EG112:

All in all, I've used the Yamaha Eg112 Strat-style guitar here. This guitar is cheap, and I just put a Chinese Humbucker-style single on the neck. Nowadays, even your guitar can sound good through VST plugins. Technologies are really good nowadays. So, somehow, I got the sound I wanted, which was a distorted but well-rounded sound.

Amplitube4

Now, let's talk gear. For this cover, I decided to use Amplitube4 for my guitar tones. Now, suppose you're not familiar with Amplitube4. It's a virtual guitar amplifier and effects modeling software and it allows you to recreate the sounds of real amps. It also has pedals and effects just inside this software. And let me tell you, it's a game-changer. With this, I could dial in perfect tones for "Girls Like You". And this is the crunchy distortion with just the right amount of grit. Getting the rock vibe of the song perfectly.

Cool Melody

Alright now the fun part which is the melody! "Girls Like You" has such a cool melody. This melody begs to be played on the electric guitar. From the catchy riff that kicks off the song to the soaring chorus lines. Every part of this melody is a blast to play. And with the rock version adding some extra punch. It's impossible not to get caught up in the energy of the music. Trust me, once you start playing this melody, you won't want to stop!

Final Thoughts

As a wrap up, This song came out right on my taste. Bringing this song to life on the electric guitar has been an quite a journey. I hope you've enjoyed this guitar cover. And I'm planning more in the future.

I suggest picking up your guitar and trying out this song.We should enjoy music, so look for mellow or pop songs and try to make it your rock version. I don't know if you don't end up in the clouds of happiness. :) Until next time, keep on rocking!
